-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nikki grew up on a farm in the Taieri and has been around horses all her life. Growing up in a 'horsey' family with a lifetime of competing at A&P Shows, Eventing and Showjumping. Nikki has lived in Wanaka since returning from overseas and is enjoying being part of the Management Committee of the Upper Clutha A&P committee for Wanaka Show. Some of the highlights of her riding career include representing the South Island at the Horse of the Year Show in Karaka on the thoroughbred she taught to jump 'Grey Corvette'. Another highlight was riding as a Company Rider on the set of Lord of the Rings. Nikki now enjoys heading into the mountains on long rides and aims to breed really good hill horses ideally suited to pleasure riding.

Aaron is quite new to the horse world but is enjoying owning and riding his first horses (and writing out a never-ending stream of cheques!?!). Pembroke Jag, his rising 3 yr old Clydesdale-x gelding, is teaching him a thing or two about riding and is proving a good reason to spend time on the farm rather than his usual big days in the office. Aaron has been in Wanaka since moving from the other island to attend Otago University. Aaron is a Councillor on the Queenstown Lakes District Council since elected in 2001. In his spare time Aaron owns and manages the local newspaper the Wanaka Sun and the Wanaka Unichem Pharmacy.
Nikki's parents Sue & Alan McKay, both with an equestrian background, made sure that their four children all had a chance to enjoy horses. Nikki's sister Sally is now a successful racehorse trainer with her husband Ben Gordon (married 5 Jan 2008) at Meadowlands Stables, Invercargill. Twin brothers Ross & Greg McKay have also both ridden & worked with horses and Greg is the owner and operator of McKays Horse Transport.
Aaron's family have owned lifestyle farms in the North Island including in Waihi & Paeroa. His parents Ben & Barbara Heath are now living on a lifestyle block in Whakamarama near Tauranga. One of Aaron's sisters, Alana, is a doctor at Rotorua Hosipital and his other sister, Adrienne, is a full-time Masters Student at Waikato University, Hamilton.
